Rihanna in talks to be launching a luxury brand with LVMH

Rihanna is killing not only the music world but now she’s taking on the fashion world…and we couldn’t be more excited. Following success from her 2016 ‘Fenty Beauty’ collection as well as receiving a magnitude of positive feedback from her diverse lingerie collection it seems fitting that the star is set to expand her brand.

As well as her own brand she has worked alongside Puma as creative director, showing that she means business. Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) announced that the star has been in talks with LVMH, that have been kept very much under the radar, about releasing a luxury brand under her own name.

The LVMH company owns top brands such as Dior, Givenchy and Celine. So it’s safe to say we can expect big things. Rihanna has worked with the LVMH company before via its Kendo division for Fenty Beauty, which saw profits soar above the $800 million company Kylie Cosmetics owned by Kylie Jenner in its first month of sales.

Rihanna herself has been fuelling the speculation as she was seen out in New York earlier this week sporting some statement metal sunglasses adorned in a ‘Fenty’ logo. Despite this no collection has been confirmed. If the rumours are true Rihanna will be only the second woman of colour to own one of the LVMH labels amongst other heritage brands such as Louis Vuitton. As well as being the first new launch since 1987.

But what will the collection look like? With nothing confirmed its hard to know what to expect but based on her previous focus on providing diverse ranges and making every man or women feel good in their bodies, we can assume the brand will be as inclusive as ever. Rihanna has always attempted to boycott mainstream beliefs about how people should look and we have no doubt that this same belief will resonate on the rails of the new collection.
